Stephen King’s Carrie is heading back to the screen in a new Prime Video series from Mike Flanagan.
More than 50 years after King’s debut novel was first published, Carrie is getting its first television series adaptation, with The Haunting of Hill House creator Flanagan putting a new spin on the classic horror story.

What is the new Carrie series about?
Prime Video’s Carrie follows Carrie White, a teenage girl who has spent much of her life isolated at home with her fiercely protective mother, Margaret. The series is based on Stephen King’s 1974 novel but expands the story over eight episodes, giving Flanagan considerably more time to explore Carrie and the people around her than previous movie adaptations did. It also brings Carrie’s experiences into the modern day, with a viral bullying scandal and social media forming part of the new adaptation.
