1. The Gentlemen Season 2

Guy Ritchie’s stylish crime drama The Gentlemen is back for a second season, with Theo James returning as aristocrat-turned-criminal Eddie Horniman alongside Kaya Scodelario’s Susie Glass. After inheriting his family estate – and discovering the enormous illegal operation hidden beneath it – Eddie is now firmly embedded in Britain’s criminal underworld, with Season 2 expanding his partnership with Susie.
The series is also one to watch for its quintessentially British backdrops. The Gentlemen has made extensive use of London and grand country estates, with previous locations including Wrotham Park in Hertfordshire, Printworks in Rotherhithe and locations around Greenwich. Season 2 began filming in late 2025, bringing Ritchie’s lavish version of aristocratic Britain back to the screen.
2. Chad Powers Season 2

Glen Powell is heading back onto the football field in Season 2 of Chad Powers. The comedy follows disgraced quarterback Russ Holliday, who disguises himself as the eccentric Chad Powers to resurrect his football career. This time, Chad’s increasingly suspicious behaviour threatens to expose Russ just as the South Georgia Catfish chase a place in the College Football Playoff.
Despite its fictional South Georgia college setting, Chad Powers has genuine Georgia roots. Production information lists Atlanta, Georgia as the filming base for Season 2, with filming beginning in January 2026. That makes the series another addition to Georgia’s already enormous film and television résumé.
3. Last Seen

Apple TV’s new six-part Australian thriller Last Seen follows Ian Ridley, a police dispatcher whose young daughter disappeared 11 years earlier. When Ian receives a distress call from a teenage girl he becomes convinced is Maggie, his determination to find her threatens to consume both his life and what remains of his family. The series is adapted from Ryan David Jahn’s novel The Dispatcher.
And this is an especially good one for location lovers: Apple confirms that the entire series is both set and filmed in Victoria, Australia. Rather than Australia doubling for somewhere else, Victoria gets to play itself as the backdrop to the mystery – making Last Seen one of September’s most interesting releases for screen tourism.
4. Crew Girl

Rowing, romance and elite boarding-school drama collide in Netflix’s new series Crew Girl. Miku Martineau stars as Teagan Tao, a talented teenage single sculler whose promising future is derailed by a family scandal, forcing her to start again at prestigious Easton Prep – and navigate new rivals and relationships along the way.
The fictional East Coast world of Easton Prep was actually created across Victoria, British Columbia, with the Canadian city and surrounding area providing the collegiate scenery and waterways seen throughout the show. The rowing element in particular gives Crew Girl a strong sense of place, with the production making use of the region’s waterside landscape. This will be a one of the hottest TV shows releasing in September 2026.
5. Slow Horses Season 6

- Release: September 16, 2026

Gary Oldman returns as the brilliantly unpleasant Jackson Lamb for Season 6 of Slow Horses. Adapted from Mick Herron’s novels Joe Country and Slough House, the new six-episode season finds the dysfunctional MI5 team on the run after Diana Taverner pulls them into a dangerous game of retaliation and revenge.
London remains integral to the espionage drama’s identity. Season 6 filmed in London and South East England, continuing the show’s tradition of using real British locations to create its deliberately less-glamorous take on the spy genre. Production tracking also lists the new season’s shoot in London starting in January 2026.
6. Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story

- Release: September 17, 2026

Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan turn their attention to one of America’s most notorious murder cases in Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story. Ella Beatty plays Lizzie Borden, who was accused and later acquitted of murdering her father and stepmother with an axe in Fall River, Massachusetts, in 1892. The fourth Monster instalment marks the anthology’s first season centred on a female figure.
But don’t expect the production itself to be rooted entirely in Massachusetts. Los Angeles served as the main production base, recreating Borden’s 19th-century world, while a substantial portion of filming also took place in Rome, Italy. This Ryan Murphy project is one of the most hotly anticipated TV shows releasing in September 2026.
7. Brothers
- Cast: Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Natalie Martinez, Brittany Ishibashi, Holland Taylor
- Release: September 23, 2026

Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson turn one of Hollywood‘s strangest real-life rumours into a comedy with Brothers. The longtime friends play fictionalised versions of themselves whose relationship is thrown into chaos when a family secret suggests they could actually be biological brothers. Woody and his family subsequently descend on Matthew’s Austin ranch, while Matthew also finds himself contemplating a run for Governor of Texas.
Appropriately, the Texas-set story also features genuine Texan scenery. Production took place primarily around Austin, Texas, giving the series an authentic backdrop for McConaughey and Harrelson’s exaggerated versions of their lives.
