Where Was The Good Daughter Filmed?

Although The Good Daughter is set in the fictional town of Pikeville, Georgia, the series was filmed at real locations across the state, particularly in and around Atlanta and its surrounding communities.

Production began in March 2025 and continued into the summer, with the Atlanta metropolitan area serving as the principal filming base. One of the most notable filming locations was Griffin, Georgia, a historic city south of Atlanta.

According to local production reporting, scenes were filmed inside Griffin City Hall and at other locations around the city during March 2025. Additional filming took place around the wider Atlanta area, including Lithonia, where casting notices confirmed production activity in May 2025.

The production also used facilities associated with Assembly Studios in Doraville, part of Georgia’s established film and television industry. The setting is particularly fitting, given that author Karin Slaughter has longstanding ties to Georgia and her original novel is also set in the state.

What Has the Cast & Crew Said About The Good Daughter?

For bestselling author Karin Slaughter, The Good Daughter marks an opportunity to bring one of her most emotionally complex stories to the screen.

Unlike adaptations where a separate screenwriter takes over the material, Slaughter wrote all six episodes herself, allowing her to revisit the Quinn family’s story for television.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, Slaughter discussed the importance of portraying women’s experiences of violence and trauma with sensitivity, while ensuring the series also explores resilience and survival.

The production worked with advocacy organisations, including Brady and RAINN, in approaching some of the story’s difficult subject matter.

Director Steph Green brings her experience in character-driven television drama to the adaptation, while Byrne also serves as an executive producer.
