Eighteen years after audiences first arrived at Camp Rock, Disney is heading back to summer camp with a new generation of musicians — and some very familiar faces.
Camp Rock 3 reunites Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas as Connect 3, while introducing a new group of campers competing for the chance to join the band on tour. But despite returning to the fictional camp that started it all, the third movie didn’t actually return to the original film’s Ontario locations.
Instead, the Camp Rock 3 filming locations can be found more than 2,000 miles away in British Columbia, with Vancouver and neighbouring Burnaby providing the forests, waterfront and mountain scenery behind the new Camp Rock.
Disney confirmed that production was underway in Vancouver in September 2025, while local reports revealed that one Metro Vancouver park underwent a particularly noticeable transformation for the movie.
So, where was Camp Rock 3 filmed, can you visit the new Camp Rock filming locations in real life, and how do its locations compare to the original movies?
Where Was Camp Rock 3 Filmed?
Camp Rock 3 was filmed in and around Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
When Disney officially announced the movie on September 17, 2025, the studio confirmed that filming had already begun in Vancouver. The production brought the franchise west after the first two movies were filmed predominantly in Ontario.
Vancouver is already one of North America’s busiest production hubs, but its surroundings are particularly well suited to Camp Rock. Dense forests, mountains and waterfront parks allow filmmakers to create the feeling of a remote summer camp without travelling far from the city’s established film-production infrastructure.
One location, however, did much of the heavy lifting.
Barnet Marine Park, Burnaby
The most recognisable of the Camp Rock 3 filming locations is Barnet Marine Park in Burnaby, immediately east of Vancouver.
According to reporting cited by Us Weekly, the park’s picnic area served as a main location for the production, which operated locally under the working title Rock the Boat. The Jonas Brothers were spotted shooting scenes there in September 2025.
The waterfront park was transformed into Camp Rock for filming, complete with a large Camp Rock sign visible around the set.
It’s easy to see why filmmakers chose the location. Barnet Marine Park sits on the shores of Burrard Inlet and combines beaches, woodland and mountain views – giving the fictional music camp the secluded outdoor atmosphere associated with the franchise.
Unlike a purpose-built studio set, Barnet Marine Park is also a real public park, meaning fans can visit the landscape used in the movie after watching Camp Rock 3.
Can You Visit the Camp Rock 3 Filming Locations?
Yes. Barnet Marine Park is a public park in Burnaby, British Columbia.
The movie’s temporary sets and Camp Rock signage were created for production, so visitors shouldn’t expect to find a permanently preserved version of the fictional camp. However, the waterfront, wooded areas, and surrounding scenery seen in the film are real.
The park is located at 8181 Barnet Road in Burnaby, around a 30-minute drive from downtown Vancouver depending on traffic.
For Camp Rock fans visiting Vancouver, it’s therefore one of the easiest franchise filming locations to experience without entering a private summer camp.
Was Camp Rock 3 Filmed at the Same Place as the Original?
No. While the fictional setting remains Camp Rock, the franchise moved across Canada for the third movie.
The original Camp Rock, released in 2008, was filmed primarily in Ontario, with Camp White Pine and Camp Towhee in the Haliburton area among the locations used to create the fictional summer camp.
Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam also remained in Ontario, with filming taking place around Haliburton as well as other locations in the province.
For Camp Rock 3, production relocated to British Columbia.
That means the camp audiences see in the new movie isn’t physically the same place where Mitchie Torres first arrived with her mother or where Shane Gray famously heard the mysterious voice that sent him searching for its singer.
Where Were the Original Camp Rock Movies Filmed?
The first Camp Rock was closely associated with Ontario’s cottage country.
Camp White Pine, a real summer camp near Haliburton, was one of the principal locations used for the original movie, alongside Camp Towhee.
The natural lakes, cabins and woodland of the region established the visual identity of Camp Rock long before the franchise moved west for its third instalment.
The second movie, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, returned to Ontario and expanded filming to additional locations around Haliburton, Rockwood and Toronto.
Unlike Barnet Marine Park, however, the Ontario camps are functioning summer camps rather than conventional tourist attractions, so anyone hoping to see the original locations should check access restrictions before visiting.
Why Did Camp Rock 3 Film in Vancouver?
Disney hasn’t publicly given a specific creative reason for moving Camp Rock 3 from Ontario to Vancouver.
However, British Columbia is one of the biggest film-production centres in North America, offering established studios and crews alongside an enormous variety of natural landscapes.
For a movie centred around an outdoor music camp, Metro Vancouver also offers something particularly useful: forests, beaches and mountains within easy reach of a major production centre.
Barnet Marine Park demonstrates that advantage particularly well. Its combination of woodland and waterfront scenery creates the illusion of a secluded camp while remaining within Metro Vancouver.
What Is Camp Rock 3 About?
Camp Rock 3 brings Connect 3 back to the place where much of their story began.
According to Disney’s official synopsis, Shane, Nate and Jason lose the opening act for their upcoming reunion tour and return to Camp Rock in search of the next big musical talent. The opportunity sparks a competition among the campers, putting friendships under pressure and creating new alliances and romances along the way.
Among the new campers are determined singer Sage and her brother Desi, guitarist Fletch, cellist Rosie, drummer Cliff, dancer Callie and influencer Madison.
The premise allows the sequel to revisit the world of the original films while shifting the focus towards a new generation.
Who Is in the Camp Rock 3 Cast?
Joe Jonas returns as Shane Gray alongside Nick Jonas as Nate and Kevin Jonas as Jason, reuniting Connect 3 for the first time in a Camp Rock movie since 2010.
Liamani Segura stars as Sage, with Malachi Barton as Fletch, Lumi Pollack as Rosie, Hudson Stone as Desi, Casey Trotter as Cliff, Brooklynn Pitts as Callie and Ava Jean as Madison. Sherry Cola joins the franchise as Lark, while Maria Canals-Barrera returns as Connie Torres.
And there’s one particularly nostalgic return that Disney kept under wraps: Demi Lovato appears as Mitchie Torres. Lovato had initially been announced as an executive producer rather than a returning cast member, but makes a cameo in the finished movie.
Lovato also executive produces alongside Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas.
When Does Camp Rock 3 Come Out?
Camp Rock 3 premieres on Disney Channel on August 13, 2026 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, before becoming available to stream on Disney+ on August 14, 2026. Camp Rock 3 will be released on Disney+ in the UK on Friday, August 14, 2026.
The release comes 18 years after the original Camp Rock premiered in 2008 and 16 years after Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.
